Attorney Steve Markey of The Law Offices of Markey & Orsi was recently featured in an NBC4 Washington news segment discussing the civil lawsuit filed by his client, Yong-Mi Kim, who was struck head-on by a Prince George’s County police cruiser in 2021. Kim says she believed she “was possibly dead” after the collision, and nearly four years later, she continues to suffer medical complications.
Markey has been outspoken about the obstacles faced in obtaining evidence and transparency from the county. During the interview, he emphasized how long officials resisted turning over key records, saying, “It took almost three years, or about three years, for the county to finally comply and produce documents, including the dashcam, which they initially tried to claim didn’t exist.”
With internal police findings showing the crash was preventable and the officer involved still active on the force, Markey is helping Kim seek accountability—not only for her injuries, but to prevent future harm.
